Help test a small Mac app

I'm looking for a handful of people to sit with me for about an hour, on a video call, and try out a small Mac app I made for making GIFs. You share your screen, I give you a few situations to work through, and I watch and take notes. That's the whole thing.

Please don't go looking for the app before your session. Don't download it, don't search for screenshots. The entire point is to see what it's like the very first time — if you've already had a poke around, that's gone and I can't get it back. It's the single most useful thing you can do for me.

I built the app myself, and I'm telling you that up front so the next bit is clear: I want to find out where it confuses people. Nothing you say will hurt my feelings, and "I have no idea what this does" is a more useful sentence than anything nice. The more trouble you run into, the more useful the session was.

Sessions run 25 August to 12 September 2026. It's remote, so wherever you are is fine. Everyone who takes part gets a free licence when version 1.0 ships — that's yours either way, including if you tell me the whole thing is baffling.

Consent

What happens to your data. If we do a session, I record the screen and audio so I can go back over it afterwards. The recording itself stays on my own machine and is never published — though I may use still images from it in the write-up, with anything identifying (your name, your files, anything personal on screen) blurred or cropped out. Your email is used to arrange the session and nothing else — it doesn't go on a mailing list.

I'll write up what I learn as a public case study. Anything you say may be quoted, but never with your name on it — everything gets anonymised. You can pull out at any point, including after the session, and I'll delete your recording; just email mateusz@pozar.se.
